Class 8 Survival Skills Camp 2007

Sunrise at Lucifer's Thumb
In April, Class 8 travelled to Chaelundi to participate in a three day survival skills camp. Students, guided by the wonderful folk from "Nature Tracks", learned skills for survival in the bush. Students made a bush shelter (and Gabe slept in it!), made a water filter and water still, learned "fox-walking" and practised wide angle vision. They learned to make cordage and baskets from bush materials, to identify and prepare bush foods and to make fire! This wonderful camp has been part of the Chrysalis curriculum for several years now and is one of the highlights of the year for students (and the teacher!).

Class 6 Snow Camp - 2005
In September, Class 6 travelled to Canberra, Jindabyne (and then to Thredbo skiing), Canberra again, Wellington and the Warrambungles on an 11 day adventure.
With visits to the Planetarium, Parliament House, National Gallery, Indonesian Embassy, Botanic Gardens, National Capital Exhibition, Questacon, Wellington Caves and Warrambungles National Park, this camp linked with and extended many of the learning areas in the Class 6 curriculum. Please enjoy some of the photos from our camp....
